In March 2025, Zoltán Tajkov, a senior researcher from the TRILMAX EU consortium, traveled to the University of Delaware for a short visit with the team of Nikolic Branislav. The primary goal of the trip was to promote the in-house magnetic force theorem code, GROGU, to potential users across the Atlantic and to explore opportunities for future collaboration with Branislav’s team. Zoltán’s visit provided a platform to demonstrate GROGU’s capabilities, highlighting its potential to advance computational research in materials science.

The visit proved highly successful, as Branislav’s team expressed keen interest in adopting GROGU for their research. Discussions during the visit focused on expanding the code’s compatibility, particularly by implementing outputs from the OpenMX DFT code alongside the existing SIESTA framework. This collaborative effort promises to enhance GROGU’s versatility, making it a more powerful tool for the broader scientific community. As a direct outcome, Nikolic Branislav plans to visit Budapest in June 2025 to further solidify this partnership and explore additional avenues for joint research within the TRILMAX consortium.
